MINÉR., JOAILL. Variété de grenat d'un rouge vif et sombre, employé en joaillerie :
• 1. Ils [les visiteurs] virent, étiquetés et classés, tous les produits dont est formé le sol australien. (...) Sous les vitrines étincelaient la topaze blanche, rivale des topazes brésiliennes, le grenat almadin...
